Jasmine's Journey:

Summer Coming to an End

Children are expensive – I got hit with a very hefty bill due to childcare co-pays, after school programs and fall sports.

We celebrated my oldest son’s birthday this Labor Day weekend and instead of throwing a party, I decided to take the kids up north to visit my mom. I saved money on hotel and food expenses because my mom cooked for us. Thanks to Project Money, I have been managing my money well and this small setback hasn’t taken me over my head. Plus, my children’s dad will be reimbursing half of the expenses.

School has officially started, and I know my oldest is excited to be back with his friends. During the school year, I feel way more organized and prepared for anything. I am more structured with bedtime and cooking dinner in a timely fashion. Adjusting my work schedule for drop-off and pick-ups can be a little stressful but with the help of their dad, we came up with a great schedule to assist me with this transition.

I have a lot of things happening in the next couple of months. I have my middle child’s birthday next month, my birthday in November and then Christmas in December. It’s time to get a plan started for all of these things coming up.
