What to do with young kids on a budget: Part 3
Things have thankfully remained status quo for us on our budget journey thus far (knocking on all wood around me after I type that). As a result, we don’t have much to share this week about our journey. I do want to mention that we had our 6-month-old puppy neutered this month. The price tag was more than we anticipated, but thanks to this experience and how our coach, Scott, has us set up, this did not set us back. We were able to pay for it in full as well as continue to put money into our savings! I love how transparent this experience is for those of you who are following the participants, but I do wish you could see where we were prior to our journey with Project Money. This would help others truly understand that paying this expense in full and putting money into savings would not have been possible without this experience.
Today, we are going to share about a fun family activity for other families near Milwaukee who need free or low-budget options! While searching for options, Josh stumbled on the Lynden Sculpture Garden in River Hills, WI. Thanks to a large donation, there is no admission fee, and every third Saturday, dogs are also welcome! Our kids may be unusual, but they are tough to please and many times we try a new park or idea, and they are not impressed. Well, I have to say that the Lynden Sculpture Garden was a success! It was a beautiful day, so we were able to enjoy the nice weather while walking around and admiring the works of art that are on display. This would not be an all-day activity for those of you out there considering this, but there are times that it is nice to get out of the house for a couple hours and this was just the place for that.
